2 out of 5 stars cute face, alarming neck stem   March 17, 2010

I don't think it matters to the kid who received this baby as a gift, but I was disturbed by the heavy, elongated neck stem that extends from the head about halfway into the torso of this doll. You can feel it through the plush body, and it and the heavy head make the doll very top-heavy. I bought a Corolle for my daughter and this Madame A. for her friend, and I wish I'd gotten the Corolle for both. The face on the Madame A. is slightly prettier and more detailed, but the construction is not as fine and it doesn't smell as good as the Corolle. The Corolle smells like vanilla, and the face has a smooth, almost silky feel. The face of this Madame A. just feels like plastic.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful baby doll   March 12, 2010

I was very pleased when I received this doll in the mail. It is the perfect size for my 1 yr. old niece. Didn't even realize you can put the thumb in her mouth...just an added feature. I think this Madame Alexander will be a great start to a love of dolls.

Very sweet doll. The little girl I gave it to loves her doll. She sleeps with her.

This doll is the perfect size for my 18 month old to carry and hug. I was her favorite toy on Christmas day and remains so.

5 out of 5 stars great gift for my granddaughter   August 26, 2008

great doll for my granddaughter. Although, I would suggest the line be expanded to include more ethnicities... including mixes. I purchased your "African American" because her coloring is closer to my darling granddaughter's - she is Irish/Swedish/Indian (of India)...
