Better than the ring pool from Intex August 10, 2010 Elba Bousono I was excited about the purchase of this pool, but did not start to assemble it until a week later after receiving the product. When I emptied the contents of the box to make sure all the pieces were included, I was not surprised when all the pieces were not included. It is a lovely pool, but I spoke with other people who purchased the same exact pool, and they informed me that they were actually missing the same pieces I was missing. I contacted Intex for the missing parts (there is a number specifically for missing parts, hhmmmm). Anyway, when I finally got a hold of someone, they stated that they do not replace big parts (e.g. T-joints). I was missing the major parts of pieces needed to assemble the pool. Intex told me to contact the seller (CMS Worldwide). I do not know why, since CMS was not the one who placed the pool in the box. I sent an e-mail to CMS, I was contacted immediately by Terry. Terry and I were going back and forth concerning these missing pieces. It took another week, but I finally received my pieces. Apparently, the missing pieces are contained in one box. This box was missing. It is the shape of a phone book, possibly a little larger. Terry informed me that it is called an "accessory box". Terry stated Intex has to send it to me because they are the ones who packaged the product. Terry told me exactly what to say to Intex, and guess what? I received my accessory box a week later. First Intex told me that if the accessory box was not in the original packaging box, the pool would weigh a certain amount of pounds and they would not mail the product. But as I stated before, several other people who purchased the same exact pool had the same problem. Therefore, I know that CMS is not to blame, but Intex. My niece and son put the pool together in less than an hour, with one exeption. I recommend that one end of the pool, where you have to connect a T-joint, be left unassembled until you get to the opposite side of the pool to place the last T-joint. You need to then insert the Two T-joints that are left, at the same time. If not, you are going to have trouble inserting the last t-joint. It didn't measure up. In addition, it is very, very important that the ground is leveled correctly, otherwise when the pool is being filled, it will be quite noticeable and uneven. This could damage the horizontal beam and vertical leg. The leg caps quite do not stay on the vertical leg. They keep coming off, so I placed a flat rock under the leg caps to keep them intact. With the other intex pools that has the ring at the top (fill with air), the floor of the pool has to be stretched so that no wrinkles remain while filling up (if not, it will fill up uneven). The Intex ring pool is very difficult to keep these wrinkles out, but the metal frame one was a breeze. I also recommend that a pool cover is purchased with this pool. I bought one for this specific pool and it contains several nickel sized holes on the surface for "breathing". A pool has to be shocked at least once a month, and cholrine every night. I purchased the powder chlorine instead of the tablets. It circulates better than the tablets, and last longer. If your pool cover does not have holes on the surface, any germs, algae, or whatever can gather in a pool will incubate and make it harder for the chlorine to keep the water clean. I know, my pool is practically under a tree (not by choice). I also enjoy this pool because I can actually swim in it! My daughter has an innertube, I swim, my niece swims, and she is about 5"6, I am only 5"1, but all three of us swim and still have plenty of room. It is deep enough to swim under water, and over. However, if your pool package does not come with a ladder, you may need to purcahse one, unless you are very tall. I had to place my stool (two step stool) next to the pool. I did not know I needed a ladder. But if you are not tall, and I am sure that people who want to purchase this pool, want to mainly for the children, I would recommend a ladder. If not, your child may hurt themselves trying to get in and out. My package did not come with a ladder. I think this size of pool would not. Other then what I stated, this pool is a lot of fun and I would recommend it to anyone!
12 FOOT SWIMMING POOL July 12, 2010 LYNDA (Great Falls, MT, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pool I bought 2 years ago after our first pool fell apart. We put it up last year and filled it up. It worked great all summer. I have two kids, last year they were 7 & 8. Them and all their friends played in it last year about 10 kids a day. The pool held up nicely. We live in Montana so we drained the pool in the fall and left it up but empty all winter. When it got hot out again my son who is 8 and his friend got in the pool and cleaned it out. It was pretty easy with our shop vac and the mop. We filled it with water and again this year it as been used almost every day with around 10 kids. This pool is great. The pump also has been working wonderfully. The metal pipes are holding up really well and there is little show of fading on the inside or outside and our pool has been up for almost two years. I have no complaints
nice pool June 26, 2010 T. Connell (Ga) I looked around for weeks before I bought this pool for my wife and daughter, it took me around 7 hours from start to finish but that time included me leveling tha ground. It took only 30 minutes to set the pool up, I gave this pool 4 stars not because of anything that was wrong with the pool but because it needed a ladder in the package and a stronger pump. I read many reviews that stated Intex needs to put a bigger pump in for this pool and I agree, the one that comes with it is ok but not the best by no means. The set up of the pool is simple and 1 person can set it up with no problems, but do not panic if yours dosnt come with the rope on the bottom. The video that comes with the pool shows a rope to run your legs through but mine did not but I cannot see where it affects anything. This pool is a good start for any family that wants a pool, its in-expensive but a good pool.
Great Value May 11, 2010 Judy Kelly (Memphis, TN) I love this pool!!! I've had it 2 years now & it is great. I was afraid of keeping it up over the winter but it worked out fine. It's small enough for my young grandkids to play in & have their heads above water & just big enough for me to float around in occasionally or take a quick dip on a hot day. Easy to clean & keep clean as well. Doesn't take many chemicals. The only issue I have had is the hoses must be replaced after 1 year due to being exposed to the elements. Not a big deal at all. Well worth the money even if it had only lasted one summer!
12' X 30" Intex pool June 10, 2009 Grady (Savannah,GA. USA) Good buy for the money. Needs a larger pump to keep up, but you can buy one pretty cheap on Amazon.
