FUN! July 14, 2010 S. Morgan My 2 year old and her friends LOVE this climber. I did have some concerns about the side with the rope climbing but I left the rope off for now and have lots of padding on that side. so far no one has fallen off (not from the year old to the four year old). Underneath makes a great area for a fort. The climber arrived very fast and we were very excited to put it together but there was NO hardware. I called the company and they sent out the hardware and I received it in a few days. the one screw that attaches the top platform to the top portion of the climbing wall had no predrilled holes in the platform. There were only indentations where the screw goes. I chose this climber because she won't outgrow it for several years and it had great reviews.
Fun! May 30, 2010 A. Champine (Marysville, WA) Our daughter is only 1 so the only thing she does is the slide so far (with our help), but I think it'll be a great, fun toy that she'll grow into. Its light enough to pull around in our yard so we can keep moving it so our grass doesn't die. Would recommend.
Great set for youngins April 29, 2010 MorJen James (Dallas, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We got this set used off of Craigslist and it had survived 2 older kids, 5 and 7, without any visible signs of wear. We have now had it for about a year and a half or so and it's great! Our son was about 18 months old or so, but had been very mobile very young and he took to this thing like crazy. One other reviewer mentioned the side hole being large, but even at 18 mos, our son was very aware that going down the hole was a bad idea, and used the top part as a guide to get to the slide. Since then we've put a kiddie pool under the slide part and that was a blast in summer, and he is almost 3 and plays with it daily. He now loves climbing up the rope section, climbing up the rock wall (it was originally turned inside out, but he quickly outgrew the need and now it is the convex rock shape), drawing on it with chalk, hitting it with various things, sticking grass and whatnot through the little holes in the top, and just overall having a great time. I have sat on this thing with him when he was younger just as a precaution, and while the top section sags a little, it doesn't dent permanently and supports me just fine (at 250+ lbs!) so the durability of this is incredible. I agree the "lookout" thing or telescope, or whatever this thing is, is pretty worthless. If it rains, it gets water/condensation/dirt trapped inside and makes it difficult to see out of. Our son more pretends he's using it rather than actually trying to see through it. It also has lost it's tightness and so just flops around which is also pretty lame. Also, when removing the giant black "screws" be extremely careful with what you unscrew them with. We have broken one of them by squeezing too hard. It's still functioning, but due to the heavy duty plastic it could potentially be a sharp hazard. Overall it's a great starter set and when we got it, we were just thinking it was a big slide, but as our son has grown, it has become so much more to him.
Kids love this August 5, 2009 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this toy for my church for the 3 to 4 years old, and it's a hit. Kids can't stop playing with it, however, it's kind of high for them and we have to limit the number of people on the platform and to supervise them closely.
Takes a lot of wear and tear April 19, 2009 L. K. Roden (Northern VA United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We've had this mountain climber set for a year and a half now and it has done very well outdoors in our super hot southern summers and icy cold winters. My biggest tip is to take in the telescope every time your kids are done playing with it, since condensation and rain fill the telescope with water and can't be used. A $20 replacement comes very slowly from the company and is a hassle to order! I have had birthday parties of a dozen kids ranging from 3 years to 9 years of age all playing on this, and it's amazing how many kids can play all at once. The only thing I'd point out, though, is that the dark blue climber parts can bend a bit under the weight of a big kid in the peak of summer heat. No one's had their feet pinched, though.
