Three year old loves this July 15, 2010 D. Weber (Maryland, USA) I got this camera for my daughter's third birthday and she loves it. It was really easy to figure out how it works. In less than a week she has taken over 600 pictures. We haven't printed any out so I can't speak to the quality, but she has fun just taking and looking at the pictures. She also likes the two games that are on the camera. One is a match-type game and the other is a "follow the leader" type game (like the old Simon).
really great fun for our 3 year old (if you want high quality images, this is NOT the camera for you) July 6, 2010 gold tooth (az) We were looking for a "toy" camera for our daughter,a 3 yr old. We ordered the Vtech junior, and she was thrilled as were we. This camera is way more than a toy, and for the money seems like a great value, and the features and setting options will extend the longevity of the 'toy' to grow as our daughter's understanding of technology increases. The quality is good, and appears that it will last for a while, even in the hands of a 3 year old. The camera is a bit large for tiny hands, but the plastic casing is important to avoid breakage, and is easy to grip. The carrying strap is a nice feature to avoid drops. The camera has lots of buttons on the back for changing the settings, turning on and off the camera, the flash, etc. The camera does NOT have a traditional view finder, but has a LCD screen on the back side that shows what you're taking a picture of, more like today's digital cameras. The camera holds about 400 pictures which is a generous amount, our daughter has yet to complain that the camera is out of space (although we are good about uploading/deleting regularly). When a photo is taken, the camera emits a "shutter sound", which we feel is important for little ones (cause and effect). Images can be reviewed and deleted via the LCD screen on the back (through a complicated series of button pushes), and it also offers some graphics that you can add to your images, in addition to games (we have not played). The provided USB cable allows for viewing and deleting images from the camera via a computer. Image quality is very poor, but this was not an important criteria for us when purchasing a camera for a three year old.
Better than expected June 24, 2010 D. Guillory My grandkids are going to love it. It holds a lot of pictures and has games installed. They couldnt ask for much more. Vtech just keeps getting better.
Perfect for little photographers May 24, 2010 Matthew Cooper (Albany, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My son is 3 years old and he loves this camera. Whenever my wife and I take out our camera to take photos of anything he has to take out his Vtech Kidizoom camera and take photos along with us. There is definetly enough space on the camera for a lot of photos and we have been keeping a few photos off of every transfer to the computer. The camera if very durable as well. He has dropped it down stairs, left it outside over night and left it in a hot car as well. The battery life is not bad on this as well. I think in the two months we have had it we have had to change the batteries about 2 times. He also likes the games that come on the device as well. Good choice if your looking for camera for a camera for a little one.
wow! Vtech did a great job on this one April 29, 2010 Val Ford (Texas) I really did not buy many vtech toys but when my daughter won an award for goob behavior I decided to buy her a camera and take her to the Earth Day Celebration to help me take pictures. I thought I would just get the fisher price tough kids camera since I had seen so many adds for that one. Upon reading about the two camera's I decided that the Vtech kidizoom sounded like a better value since it also had built in video games (how good is that in the car). Well it was easy to use right out the package, had two cute games, had a nice big viewing screen and dropping it was not a problem-very durable. The download was easy and it had fun editing software right in the camera-no downloading from CD's. My daughter had a great time taking pictures of schoolmates with me at the festival. I would recommend this camera by all means. It is great! Val Ford
