This is a robotic toy just as described. It is fun but I really wouldn't purchase it for a small child because it is mechanical. I purchased one with the intent of giving it to one of my grandchildren as a gift then kept it for me! When they come to see me I supervise the holding of it as well as other "toys" I have purchased for them. I have often purchased toys or things for my grandkids that I keep at my home for them. That way when they come see me they can enjoy something that is only at grandma's home. Personally I love it and enjoy the pleasure it has brought to the faces of everyone who has seen it.

I bought this for my daugther last fall for her 5th birthday, she LOVED it, even though it sounds mechanical, LAURA the LION ( I know she's not a lion)was a hit.
She would bring her everywhere, one day she brought it to church and it got put up on a shelf to be out of reach of little kids, but she fell down and broke her neck.
I've tried to do several "surgeries" on her and just have given up, still with it not working and a broken neck, my daughter still plays with her and sleeps with her.
also ever since then my 7yr old son wants one too, he wants the polar bear, I told them maybe for their birthdays, and we could get Laura#2......
very cute and check out some youtube videos of it, and cats being scared of it, that's how real it is :-)

This toy is "awesome" accourding to my daughter. I found that it keeps up with the trends of time and that it really seems to feel like it is life like.! Its a cuddly friend andy child would enjoy.

Very realistic, and very cute. People are complaining about the mechanical sound being too loud, however, what do you expect, it is a ROBOTIC toy. It's going to be noticeable. So go into it knowing you'll hear the mechanics working. With that being said, it is still a great toy. Very cuddly, soft, and durable. My kids like to sleep with it at night. Unlike the Furreal toys, this one has a stuffed animal body, so they can cuddle with it! I love it.

I'm so disappointed in this toy. It was at the top of my daughter's Christmas list last year. She loved it for a few months, and then it started sounding funny. By September, it had stopped working entirely. Wowwee will not help. [...] My daughter is so bummed, and I am so disgusted w/ Wowwee.
